1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service constitute a legally binding agreement between you and BillHero LLC ("BillHero," "we," "us," or "our") governing your use of the BillHero platform at billhero.ai. By creating an account or using BillHero, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Description of Service

BillHero is an educational and assistive software platform that helps individuals understand medical bills, insurance Explanations of Benefits (EOBs), and insurance coverage documents, and generate template appeal letters.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use BillHero.

4. Account Registration

You agree to provide accurate information, maintain account security, notify us of unauthorized access, and accept responsibility for all account activity.

5. Subscription Plans and Payment

Free Plan: One analysis per month with limited output.

Paid Plans: Billed monthly or annually as selected. By subscribing, you authorize BillHero to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.

Refunds: We offer a 7-day free trial on paid plans. After the trial period, refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which describes specific refund windows for monthly, annual, and one-time plans. Where the Refund Policy provides more generous terms than these Terms, the Refund Policy governs.

Price Changes: We may change prices with 30 days advance notice.

6. Acceptable Use and Fair Use Policy

You agree not to:

• Use BillHero for any unlawful purpose
• Submit fraudulent, fabricated, or altered medical documents
• Use BillHero to generate fraudulent insurance claims or appeals
• Attempt to reverse engineer or extract BillHero's AI models or source code
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit BillHero's outputs without written permission
• Impersonate any person or entity

Fair Use Limit: Unlimited plans are intended for personal and family use only — not for commercial resale, bulk processing, or use on behalf of third parties for compensation. A soft limit of 50 analyses per month applies. Users who consistently exceed this limit or who appear to be using BillHero for commercial purposes may be contacted and/or have their accounts suspended. If you need higher volume access for legitimate purposes, contact us at support@billhero.ai to discuss a commercial arrangement.

7. Intellectual Property

BillHero's technology, AI models, software, and content are owned by BillHero LLC. You retain ownership of uploaded documents. Appeal letters and reports generated based on your documents are provided for your personal use.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

BILLHERO IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY APPEAL WILL BE SUCCESSFUL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify BillHero LLC from any claims arising from your use of the service or violation of these Terms.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms. You may cancel at any time through account settings.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Lynchburg, Virginia.

12. Changes to Terms

Material changes will be communicated with at least 30 days advance notice.
